Forget voting, debates, outrage and endless social media arguments — a supercomputer has predicted who is going to run world football for the next decade.
According to a projection from CSB, who reviews the best Canadian betting sites, a model combining mathematical probability algorithms to forecast the Ballon d’Or winners through 2036.
Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is a frequent winner as the 19-year-old Spain international is projected to win three Ballon d’Or trophies — in 2027, 2031 and 2035.
He is also projected to finish second in the 2026 race, with Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane taking the award.
There is plenty of other star power in the forecast.
Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham is projected to win the 2028 Ballon d’Or after a spectacular 2026 World Cup campaign with England that reportedly included seven goals. Then comes the part Bayern Munich fans will want to pay attention to.
Michael Olise is projected to win the 2029 Ballon d’Or.
The Bayern winger is apparently going from silky dribbles and ridiculous left-footed finishes to standing on the biggest individual stage in football, but will he still be with Bayern Munich at that point?
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland finally gets his Ballon d’Or in 2030, while a collection of the sport’s brightest young stars — including Real Madrid’s Endrick, FC Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsí, Real Madrid’s Arda Güler, and Chelsea’s Estevão — are also projected to take home the trophy before 2036.
Of course, predicting the next decade of football is not an exact science, but if this supercomputer is right, fans might want to prepare for an onslaught of campaign over the next 10 years.
How does the supercomputer work?
-This supercomputer projection synthesizes real-world data points to simulate 10,000 potential outcomes for each season and Ballon d’Or up to 2036.-
-Baseline probabilities were weighted using dynamic Elo-style club ratings that emphasize performance.
-A number of other factors including projected form, accolades and team trophies over that period of time are considered.
