Late news
Lausanne boss Peter Ziegler trots out a slightly confusing lineup; my guess is that it’s a diamond midfield with Enzo Kana-Biyik at the top behind Theo Bair and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, but it could wind up looking more like a 4-3-2-1 with Bair leading the line alone.
Paolo Vanoli has gotten very weird. Starts for Pablo Marí and Mattia Viti at the back and Roberto Piccoli and Edin Džeko at the front make sense, as they’re all clearly second choice. But those wingbacks, man. Eddy Kouadio makes his first
senior start while Christian Kouamé operates out on the left in his first start in 364 days. It might work—Kouadio’s looked sharp in the Conference League and Kouamé’s the exact sort of player who could reinvent himself from explosive striker to hardworking wingback—but it’s quite a choice.
Lineups
Lausanne (4-3-1-2): Letica; Fofana, Sow, Mouanga, Soppy; Sigua, Roche, Lekoueiry; Kana-Biyik; Bair, Butler-Oyedeji
Fiorentina (3-5-2): Martinelli; Viti, Marí, Pongračić; Kouamé, Sohm, Nicolussi Caviglia, Richardson, Kouadio; Piccoli, Džeko
