The Seattle Seahawks’ top draft pick is (somewhat) back in action this week.
Seattle held one of its walkthrough practices on Wednesday, three days out from its preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys. When it’s one of their ACT (alignment, communication, and technique) practices, it’s far less intensive than a normal practice and more focused on the attention to detail that helped make the Seahawks Super Bowl champions. It is nevertheless encouraging to know that Jadarian Price, who has been
out since last Friday with “lower body soreness,” was able to participate.
Price was on the side practice field at VMAC on Tuesday getting some light work done, but otherwise was not involved in actual scrimmages. It is still great that Price is ramping his way back up after being out for a few days. Whether or not Price makes his NFL debut in the Cowboys game remains to be seen.
The bad news for Seattle is that Emanuel Wilson, who limped out of Tuesday’s practice, wasn’t even in good enough shape to do ACTs, so the Seahawks’ running back injuries have not stopped. Here’s what Gregg Bell reported on Tuesday:
Running back Emmanuel Wilson, who’s been running with the starters with Price out the last four practices, pulled up after a catch and run out of bounds late in practice grabbing his upper leg. He went to the ground and got assistant from a trainer.
If by any chance Price is cautiously held out of game action, Wilson can’t go, and Jacardia Wright is still hobbled, the Seahawks could end up with a whole lot of George Holani, Velus Jones Jr, TJ Harden, and Justin Jones carrying the rock on Saturday. And if Holani is as important to Seattle’s offense as expected, it’s really those last three who will get most of the touches.
