The Seattle Seahawks put up 180 yards on the ground in the Week 18 smothering of the San Francisco 49ers. How were they able to do that?
For a couple of years the offensive line has called the run game
a softening process. It finally softened. In fact, the Seattle running backs – once considered the least trustworthy players in the entire NFL by my friend in a fantasy league – finished the year as one of the best duos in sports.

Would you believe it – the Seattle Seahawks finished with the 7th-best RB duo by yards, with impressive touchdown numbers to boot. This includes beating out the No. 4, 5, and 6 ranked teams by total rushing offense.

It’s especially impressive considering how abysmal the Seattle run game was in the beginning of the season. In four of the first eight games the team had under 90 total rush yards. They had one over the back half of the season. In fact, in seven of the final eight games the Seahawks had over 110 rushing yards, including four games over 160.
Seattle now enters the offseason with possibly the hottest run game in the postseason. While we’re on that note, kindly note that exactly one half of the teams on this list did not even make the playoffs.
