It’s been an eventful trade deadline, especially around the state of Indiana.
The Pacers completed a blockbuster deal to land a center of the future in former Clippers big man Ivica Zubac and plenty of former Hoosier high school basketball stars were on the move. Two of them starred for Indiana during their time in college.
Eric Gordon, an electrifying former star at North Central High School in Indianapolis who spent one season with the Hoosiers in 2007-08, was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to
the Memphis Grizzlies, per Shams Charania of ESPN. Gordon has been in the NBA since 2008 and spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns prior to his stint with the 76ers.
Trayce Jackson-Davis, a former star at Center Grove High School in Greenwood and Indiana’s all time leader in total rebounds and blocked shots, was traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Toronto Raptors. Jackson-Davis spent four years with the Hoosiers from 2019-23 before being selected by the Warriors in the second round of 2023’s draft.
Kel’el Ware was a subject of some trade speculation, but ultimately remained with the Miami Heat through the deadline. Ware played a single season at Indiana in 2023-24 before being selected by the Heat in the first round of 2024’s draft.
What do you think of Gordon’s NBA career up to this point as it draws to a close? What about Trayce Jackson-Davis’ future in the league? Share your thoughts below:
