Giants Hire Tony Vitello as Manager
Buster Posey wasted no time in finding a new skipper for the Giants, electing to give University of Tennessee manager, Tony Vitello the nod. Vitello comes with no MLB coaching experience, bring a lifelong collegiate coach. Vitello also comes with a reputation for being a terrific developmental coach. Perhaps the Giants will start to look a bit like the Diamondbacks in a year or two.
Kazuma Okamoto to Be Posted
NPB infielder Kazuma Okamoto will be posted for MLB clubs this offseason, according to an announcement made by the Yomiuri Giants and Okamoto himself during a press conference earlier today. The 29-year-old Okamoto currently serves as the club’s captain and is a six-time All-Star with two Gold Gloves and three NPB home run titles to his name.
