Como president Mirwan Suwarso has responded to talk that Cesc Fabregas has a special clause in his contract
that would allow him to leave the club if Barcelona come calling.Fabregas has been tipped to be a future manager of Barcelona, and Suwarso says that if the former midfielder decides it’s time to move on, he won’t stand in his way.
“He’s doesn’t need a clause to get wherever he wants,” Suwarso said on Sports Uncensored.
“In a business like this, Cesc Fabregas is a friend more than anything else.
He can go wherever he wants, whenever he wants. So if tomorrow he gets a call, or he calls me, and says ‘Hey I want to go to Leverkusen tomorrow’ – for example – I would say ‘is there something that you want to do?’ Then yeah go. I don’t need any compensation.”
Suwarso then went on to add how much Fabregas has given his club already since his arrival in 2022. Fabregas initially joined as a player but then took over as first-team coach.
“He’s helped us to build our club. He created the football foundation right? I always like to say he’s our Johan Cruyff, like as Cruyff to Barca, he created the fundamentals for us,” he said.
Fabregas has already secured Champions League football for Como for the first time in the club’s history and will come face-to-face with Barcelona in the League Phase in January.
