Germany’s women’s national team is back in action today in the second leg of its UEFA Women’s Nations League semifinals tie against France. The Germans dominated the first leg in Düsseldorf but had to eke
out a late 1-0 win through Klara Bühl’s 79th-minute strike.
Now the onus is on France to score, but they will have the benefit of a home atmosphere. At least France are not in Sweden’s position — 4-0 down to Spain heading into the second leg. Still, that’s going to be in the back of the minds of whoever walks away winners here: how do they plan to defeat their next opponents?
Prediction: 2-1 to Germany, who keep working on finding their attacking cohesion but are able to take advantage of the situation to punch home a counter or two.
