It all goes down later this afternoon (Sat., May 23, 2026) LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from the Pyramids of Giza in Giza, Egypt, as boxing superstar Oleksandr Usyk puts his WBC heavyweight title on the line against GLORY kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven.
This is a bit of an odd one on paper considering Verhoeven only has one professional boxing bout under his name, but who the hell is complaining. Saturday’s historic heavyweight title fight alongside the Pyramids of Giza will give combat sports
fans the chance to see the best boxer in the world go against the best kickboxer in the world. Usyk is obviously a heavy betting favorite to outclass Verhoeven and retain his heavyweight crown, but anything is possible once the gloves start flying.
Luckily, the fun won’t stop there. Saturday’s main card on DAZN PPV will also feature a co-main event clash between undefeated knockout sensations Hamzah Sheeraz and Alem Begic for the vacant WBO super middleweight title. In case you forgot, Sheeraz is hot off an upset knockout win over middleweight contender Edgar Berlanga last July. As for Begic, his last appearance was a knockout win over Mahdi Safdari all the way back in April 2025.
