Lewis Crocker says that if he had his choice, he’d face Devin Haney next in a welterweight title unification.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) holds the IBF 147 lb title after a controversial split decision win over Paddy
Donovan on September 13, which followed an even more controversial DQ win over Donovan in March.
Haney (33-0, 15 KO) took the WBO welterweight title from Brian Norman Jr on November 22 in Riyadh, winning a clear decision.
“Ideally, I’d [fight] Devin Haney next for a unified title. That’s the biggest fight in the division,” Crocker told DAZN. “There are plenty of options, but if you’re asking me, that’s the fight that I’d want next.”
Those options could also include a clash with Conor Benn, as Benn’s star has never been more prominent after his November 15 win over Chris Eubank Jr.
Benn fought that bout at middleweight, but is expected to move back down in weight to either 147 or 154 lbs.
“It’s an entertaining fight for the fans, [but] he’s mandatory for the WBC,” Crocker said of that idea. “If I still have my title, which I will, then that’s a great fight to make for the future.”
