Barcelona are expecting to be without Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde until after the next international break after losing the duo to injury against Atletico on Tuesday night.
The two defenders both had to be replaced in the 3-0 win over Diego Simeone’s side and will now undergo further tests.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona don’t expect either player to feature in the coming weeks, meaning they will miss games against Athletic Club, Sevilla, and Rayo Vallecano in La Liga as well as the Champions
League round of 16 tie against Newcastle.
Hansi Flick admitted afterwards he’s not happy with the injury situation at the club after seeing the two players forced off at Camp Nou.
“We have two more injuries and I’m not happy about it. We need to talk,” he added. “Because with Frenkie, we have three injured players. We need to talk to the medical team, to the staff, to prevent three players from getting injured in one week.”
Barcelona are back to work on Saturday in La Liga against Athletic Club.
