Conor McGregor has been awful quiet lately after months of being front and center promoting BKFC and pushing an unproductive run for president of Ireland. Now he’s gone one step further into recluse status
by deleting his Instagram account.
Fans of the Irish sports star noted that McGregor’s Instagram account, which had a staggering 46 million followers, was deactivated yesterday (Nov. 20, 2025). Visitors now get a ‘The profile that you’re looking for doesn’t exist’ message from the social media network. And that’s not the only thing that was deleted.
For a hot minute, the Venum store featured new custom Conor McGregor fight shorts patterned with $100 bills. As quickly as they went up, they were back down again. Was this just a quick cash grab by Venum that was nixed by McGregor’s team, or evidence that the Mac will indeed return to action for the UFC’s big June White House card?
McGregor’s silence isn’t all that surprising. Following a declaration from “The Notorious” that he had “engaged in a spiritual journey” and was “healed,” he said he’d be taking a step back from the spotlight with the intent of focusing on his 2026 fighting comeback.
McGregor is also reportedly planning to finally marry his longtime fiancé Dee Devlin, with the European tabloids claiming a December 12th date has been set and locations near the Vatican in Rome are being scouted.
We have to wonder whether this Instagram delete has more to do with his upcoming marriage than anything fight related. McGregor’s social media behavior is well documented at this point. Nikita Hand messaged McGregor over Instagram, and that led to an eventual civil conviction for sexual assault. Instagram was also McGregor’s weapon of choice when he sent bizarre dick pics to Azealia Banks.
Those are two incidents we know of. How much more trouble was McGregor getting into on the ‘gram? If he’s truly looking towards God to lead him from temptation as his wedding day approaches, the lord helps those who help themselves. Deleting Instagram is definitely a solid choice. Was it one that was made preemptively or in reaction to another shady interaction? You never know with Conor.
