UFC Paris just took a serious hit.
The highly-anticipated Featherweight showdown between former Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull and hyped newcomer Losene Keita has been scrapped from this weekend’s (Sat., Sept. 6, 2025) UFC Paris fight card inside Accor Arena in Paris, France, after “The Black Panther” badly missed weight.
Keita tipped the scales at 149 pounds on Fri. morning during early morning weigh-ins, coming in three pounds over the non-title Featherweight limit. Roughly 30 minutes later,
UFC officials announced the fight was canceled due to “weight management issues.”
Here is a clip of Keita weighing in:
It’s a brutal blow to the lineup. Pitbull vs. Keita was widely considered one of the can’t-miss matchups on the card, pitting the 16-1 OKTAGON double champ against one of the most decorated fighters in MMA history. Instead, fans are left waiting — hopefully the promotion can rebook the fight in the near future.
Keita, one of UFC’s most-hyped signings of the year, entered with sky-high expectations thanks to his aggressive style and dominance overseas. A clash with Pitbull would have been the perfect litmus test. Instead, his Octagon debut will have to wait.
As of this writing, neither fighter has publicly addressed the cancellation. It’s unclear if the decision came from the Paris commission or if Pitbull simply declined to move forward after the hefty miss.
