What You Need to Know:

The No. 10 Aggies moved to 2-0 last week after a48-20 home win over Arizona State (even if the game may have been closer than the final score indicates).
Kentucky fell to 1-1 after losing 45-17 to Alabama at home last week, but let he who has not suffered a lopsided loss to Alabama cast the first stone.
The Wildcats are in their first year under new head coach Will Stein, who’s previous stops were as an OC at Oregon and UTSA.
Kentucky’s primary costumed Wildcat mascot is creatively named “The Wildcat.” More recently they also introduced “Scratch,” a more child-friendly mascot, which begs the question: “In what ways is their primary mascot not child-friendly?”
The Kentucky fanbase refers to themselves as “Big Blue Nation,” so look for that “BBN” abbreviation to get thrown around a lot by them on social media this week.

Betting Lines:

Just like last week, the Aggies are a 14.5-point favorite.
Unlike last week, the over/under for points is set at 48.5 (a couple points lower).

Historical Notes:

A&M and Kentucky have played a total of three times, with A&M leading the series 2-1, though two of those three games were played 70+ years ago. The Aggies won the only matchup as SEC opponents in 2018, a 20-14 overtime victory.
A&M has yet to travel to Lexington for an SEC game (which will continue to be the case this year, with the game being played in College Station).
A&M has more conference wins since joining the SEC in 2012 (64) than Kentucky has this century (62).

What To Watch For:

Offensive flow: For the second consecutive week, the Texas A&M offense suffered from prolonged lulls. As the competition level increases, they need to find more ways to stay consistent and reduce their 3-and-outs.
Defensive prowess: Texas A&M’s defense has undoubtedly looked like the strength of the team thus far (even if ASU WR Reed Harris made them look silly a few times last Saturday). 10 points per game and consistently forcing turnovers (a problem last season) will keep this team in many games this season if it can continue.
Heat. So much heat. With a 2:30 kickoff and yet another forecasted high in the mid to upper 90s, make sure to hydrate and wear sunscreen if you’re headed to Kyle Field this weekend.
