The leadership council at Bayern Munich is always of interest to fans and the 2025/26 edition of the squad leaders might have a player who surprises you — newcomer Jonathan Tah.
Brought in to help solidify the backline and provide on-field leadership, Tah must have asserted himself nicely already as he will join Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, and Harry Kane on the team’s leadership council per Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg
:🚨🔴 Excl | Jonathan #Tah has been directly appointed to FC Bayern’s team
council alongside Neuer, Kimmich and Kane.
Bayern are impressed by his performances — Tah is immediately seen as the new defensive leader and a key figure in the squad. A top signing on a free transfer.
The selection of Tah is interesting on a few levels, but it is clear that the club trusts him in many ways. So far, though, Tah has not been great with his performances, though it is still very early in what will be a long and arduous campaign.
Bayern Munich kicked off its season with a win over VfB Stuttgart in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, which gave fans some insight on where things stand ahead of the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and the Champions League.
