Some might say that this is an unfortunate rite of passage for a young Bayern Munich player.
19-year-old youth player Tim Binder, who made a strong impression in the preseason, has been ruled out after sustaining a minor muscle tear in his right hamstring.
The injury was confirmed following an examination by Bayern Munich’s medical department, with Binder now expected to spend some time on the sidelines as he works toward his recovery.
Binder has been one of the young players earning opportunities around
Bayern Munich’s first-team environment, making his development an interesting storyline as Vincent Kompany continues to assess the club’s emerging talent. The injury comes at an unfortunate time for the midfielder, who will now have to step away from training and focus on getting back to full fitness.
A hamstring injury, even one described as minor, requires patience. Bayern Munich will not want to rush Binder back before he is ready, particularly with the goal of avoiding a setback that could extend his absence.
For Binder, the priority will now be rehabilitation and a steady return to the pitch. At 19-years-old, there is still plenty of time for him to continue his development, but missing valuable training sessions and competitive opportunities is certainly disappointing.
Bayern Munich will hope Binder’s recovery progresses smoothly and that the young midfielder can return to action sooner rather than later. For now, however, another promising player will be watching from the sidelines.
