Baseball America updated its top 100 prospects now that the trade deadline has passed
. The Dodgers have six prospects in the top 100, and that’s without No. 39 Zyhir Hope, now with the Detroit Tigers courtesy of the Tarik Skubal trade.Of note in the six Dodgers prospects in the BA top 100 are Christian Zazueta, who launched up to 24th overall after not named to any top-100 lists in the offseason, plus Zach Root and Charles Davalan, the Dodgers’ first two draft picks in 2025 out of Arkansas, picked
40th and 41st overall.

Since getting promoted to Double-A Tulsa in June, Zazueta has allowed six home runs with a 4.13 ERA in six starts, but he also had an eye-popping 37.4-percent strikeout-minus-walk rate in Double-A and 31.5 percent on the season that ranks third among all minor league pitchers with at least 50 innings this season.
“Even after a quick rise in our last update, Zazueta is still on a rocket to the top,” wrote Josh Norris at Baseball America on Wednesday. “The righthander hasn’t missed a beat since moving from High-A to Double-A, where he’s struck out 39 and walked just two over his first 24 innings.”
Davalan is notable as he thrives in High-A Great Lakes, hitting .292/.410/.525 with a 140 wRC+ on the season, including an eye-popping .370/.457/.790 with a 203 wRC+, eight home runs and 16 extra-base hits in 20 games in July.
“Over the course of the month, Davalan showed all of his tools, hitting for a high average, walking at a high rate and hitting for power,” Geoff Pontes wrote last week at Baseball America. “As of July 30, Davalan is in the midst of a streak of eight games in which he’s had multiple hits. He’s showing signs of a potential 60-plus-grade hit tool, even if he’s stuck at his current level due to the outrageous outfield talent in Tulsa.”
That multi-hit streak for Davalan got to nine games on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Davalan was named Midwest League player of the month for July.
