Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé talked to Diario AS during an event in which he signed an agreement with his new sportswear brand, Swiss company On. Mbappé reviewed the Madrid Derbi and discussed what happened on the field.
“It was very difficult. We wanted to win and we knew what kind of game we were going to have. But the team gave everything and we move forward because there is still so much of the season left and we have to stay on the right path,” he said.
Mbappé was also asked about the referee’s
performance during the Derbi.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been a player who talks much about the referee. I’m not going to start now. I have my thoughts, but I keep them to myself. I’ve never been that kind of player and I’m not going to start now. The referee is human and makes mistakes, and there were mistakes, but I don’t want to get into that,” he added.
The Frenchman also shared his thoughts on what Real Madrid need to turn things around.
“We have to work and do more. Other people can talk, but we have to do more and work to bring the excitement back to Real Madrid and bring the trophies back,” he concluded.
