Though they all count equally, not all losses are the same. That can be seen by how Arizona has graded out the past two weeks in back-to-back heartbreaking defeats.
The Wildcats (4-3, 1-3 Big 12) earned an overall grade of 72.8 for the 31-28 loss at Houston, per Pro Football Focus. That’s slightly behind the 73.8 for the double overtime loss to unbeaten BYU but better than the first loss of the season, at Iowa State, and the Week 3 win over Kansas State.
Arizona’s offense graded at 78.0, its second-best
of the season, but the defensive grade (60.8) was the worst of 2025 as was the 63.8 run defense grade.
For the season, the UA has an overall grade of 90.7 which ranks tied for 38th nationally. The Wildcat defense is 21st at 91.1 and the offense (76.9) is 45th.
