For the second time in school history, both the Michigan men’s and women’s basketball teams are in the Top-10 of the AP Poll at the same time. The men’s team comes in at No. 7, just like last week, while
the women’s team stayed pat at No. 6.
On the women’s side, the only Big Ten team ahead of Michigan in the poll is UCLA at No. 3. Michigan is the highest ranked team in the poll that is not undefeated.
The men’s team won its sole game of the week last week, beating Middle Tennessee, 86-61, in Yaxel Lendeborg’s first 25-point game as a Wolverine.
The women’s team had an impressive week at the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s showcase. Michigan came very close to upsetting No. 1 UConn, but fell in the final minutes, 72-69. The Wolverines bounced back in impressive fashion, beating Syracuse on Sunday, 81-55, with Te’Yala Delfosse leading the way with 21 points off the bench.
The men are back in action Monday night, with the Wolverines set to play three games in three days in Las Vegas for the Players Era Championship. You may want to stock up caffeine now, as the tip times are below.
- San Diego State (Monday, Nov. 24 at 10:30 p.m. ET on truTV)
- Auburn (Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT)
- Third game TBD (The Wolverines will play on Wednesday, Nov. 26 if they finish in the top four of the 18 teams. The top four will be determined by record, point differential, points scored and points allowed. The third place game is set for 7 p.m. ET, with the championship to follow at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Conference play starts for the women’s team on Sunday, Dec. 7 at home against Purdue. Before then, the women will host Detroit Mercy (Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m. on ESPN+) and Central Michigan (Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. on B1G+).
