The ACC’s stupid scheduling models come for every sport eventually. NC State baseball released its 2027 schedule on Thursday, and the Pack doesn’t have a weekend series against UNC or Duke. The Wolfpack and Tar Heels will play in a non-conference game—in Wilson—on April 20, because everything has gotten dumb to the point of absurdity.
This is NC State’s conference slate:
Road: UVA, ND, BC, Louisville, Clemson
Home: Wake, GT, Pitt, Cal, FSU
I feel like there needs to be more wink-wink nudge-nudge to the ACC’s
scheduling philosophy across the board, because honestly, what is this horse shit? What do you mean I have live with a baseball schedule that has Pitt and Cal and Boston College and Notre Dame on there but not UNC or Duke?
It’s time for the league office to get back to its roots of being totally at the mercy of whatever the North Carolina schools want. I have had enough of whatever scheduling equality nonsense they’re supposedly pushing. Let’s good-ol-boy-network some sense back into this. Put some unwritten rules back in there. Fill some back rooms with smoke and let’s handshake some sanity back into this conference. NC State and UNC playing a non-conference baseball game in Wilson, NC is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my life. (No offense intended to the good people of Wilson.)
