The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are about to have two running backs selected in the upcoming NFL Draft in Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. While having two running backs from the same team being drafted
in the same year is rare enough, it’s even rarer to have them be the first two running backs selected overall. It’s rare enough, in fact, that I’m not even going to look up when it’s happened before.
Of course this started me down a path of self-debate wondering about which players made the best running back tandem in Notre Dame history. While there are certainly other combos available, I think I can offer these three different tandems up for debate:
Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price
Rodney Culver and Ricky Watters
Jerome Bettis and Reggie Brooks
I’ll leave it to you to come up with the reasons why for each group, but what sticks out the most is that Love and Price rarely saw the field together at the same time — which definitely wasn’t the case for the other two pairings.
So — who are you taking and why?
