It is officially game week — the long wait for the college football season is almost over and the start of the season is on the horizon.
The long-awaited rematch between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes from the College Football Playoff is only days away from being teed up in Columbus from inside The Horseshoe, and the defending national champion Buckeyes are the 2.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day recently named true sophomore quarterback
former five-star recruit Julian Sayin as the starting quarterback, as he is now set to oppose redshirt sophomore Texas quarterback Arch Manning in his first-ever road start of his career.
It’s hard to think of another Week One matchup that has had this amount of hype around it to kickoff the season and feels like it is going to be an absolute movie that features two of college football’s biggest blue bloods. This is going to be some big boy football and I have a feeling it is going to be a tight contest throughout similar to how we saw things back in January.
Buckle up folks and pace yourselves. It’s only Monday, but it won’t be too much longer before we get to indulge in the 2025 college football season.
Kick is at 11 a.m. Central on FOX with both major pre-game shows — College GameDay and Big Noon Kickoff — airing from Columbus.
