The Washington Commanders were blown out by the Seattle Seahawks, and their injury-filled season continued with several more players likely going to IR. QB Jayden Daniels suffered an ugly elbow dislocation
when he landed awkwardly in the 4th quarter. His X-rays were negative, and he will have an MRI today. This is the third injury he’s had this season, after missing time with knee and hamstring injuries. He left last night’s game with his arm in an air cast, and is expected to miss most, if not all of the rest of the season. Marcus Mariota steps in as the starter with Josh Johnson as his backup.
Cornerback Marshon Lattimore came to Washington with an injury, and could leave injured. He was healthy this season, after dealing with a hamstring injury at the end of last year. Lattimore left last night’s game, and was wearing a sleeve on his leg. He reportedly suffered a torn ACL, and will miss the rest of the season. He has one year left on his contract with Washington, but the team will save up to $18.5 million next year by releasing him.
Wide receiver Luke McCaffrey was injured on the opening kickoff, after landed hard on his shoulder. He reportedly suffered a broken collarbone, and his season is also over. He was Washington’s top kickoff returner after Deebo Samuel was taken off due to WR injuries. McCaffrey will return next year for his third season.
