Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado is being linked with a €40 million summer transfer to Saudi Arabia.
A report from 365Scores claims that Casado’s name is on a list of targets for the Saudi Public Investment Fund this summer.
After chasing big name superstars in recent years, the PIF is now looking to bring in exciting young talent instead that can raise the profile of the Saudi Pro League.
Casado fits that bill and the idea is that an offer of €40 million may just be too good for Barcelona to refuse
given their financial situation.
So will Casado agree? He doesn’t want to leave Barcelona, that’s for sure, but he also knows that game time is becoming increasingly hard to come by.
There’s also been talk previously he could be follow in the footsteps of players such as Gabri Veiga and Aymeric Laporta, who spent a short time in Saudi Arabia before heading back to Europe.
Certainly if any offers arrive for Casado you suspect Barcelona would be willing to listen, but whether the midfielder is willing to say goodbye just yet remains to be seen.
