There’s only one goal today: get a win. Georgia Tech (0-2) lost a true clunker in week 1 to Colorado before getting (expectedly) trounced by #15 Tennessee, going winless in their first two games for the first time since 1989. The Jackets host the Mercer Bears today, who were an FCS darling in 2025, making the FCS tournament as a 6-seed but losing to South Dakota 47-0 in the second round. The Bears lost their first game of the season last week to Furman.
Tech does not have an injury report this week
after losing Jaylen Mbakwe, Jameson Riggs, and Ethan Mackenny in the previous game, but we do not expect those three to have any playing time. Key declined to comment on the health of any other players. We will have an injury report next week in the leadup to the Stanford game per ACC rules.
Tech is a 39.5 point favorite according to FanDuel. Let’s be honest, getting to 40 points will feel like a success after the impotence we’ve seen on the plus side of the field the last couple of games.
