We’ve officially reached the “oh shit, the semester is almost over and we’ve not even started our term paper, time to panic” phase of the summer transfer window. To continue this analogy, Richard Hughes realized this week that he’s not even picked a topic, and to his dismay, a lot of the books he would need to get a top grade have already been checked out at the campus library.
So, there’s not enough time or resources to get an A, but maybe there’s enough in the tank—including some upcoming all-nighters
(keep the coffee brewing, Dick)—to maybe get a C. Or at least a passing grade. Maybe.
Anyway, it’s being reported that Liverpool have made a second, improved bid for MintEH, £60 million pounds (in this economy?!), up from £50 million. However, Brighton—seeing Liverpool’s end-of-semester panicking—are holding out for £70 million. And they’ll probably get it. Because, you know, the whole “10 days left and no players” thing.
Elsewhere, it is also being reported that Liverpool have come to personal terms with Minteh. So, if Liverpool and Brighton can agree on a price (i.e. when Liverpool agree to pay the full £70 million), the deal should be able to get over the line before the term paper deadline/summer transfer window slams shut.
