Tennessee will officially go Dark Mode on Saturday night against Oklahoma, just as everyone assumed. The Volunteers were waiting on a true night game to break out the all-black look and they’ve finally
gotten one this week.
Tennessee and Oklahoma are set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC.
The return of the black uniforms came back in 2021 against South Carolina. They completed the look with black helmets in 2022 in a matchup against Kentucky. Tennessee wore them again against South Carolina in 2023, getting some revenge on the Gamecocks. The Volunteers then beat Kentucky once again last season in the all-black uniforms, 28-18.
Tennessee has been traditional for the entire season to this point, wearing the orange/white, orange/orange and white/white looks. They’ll go with the alternates for the first time this weekend, then very likely go with the ‘Smokey Grey’ against New Mexico State on November 15th.
