The on-field look for the United States national teams has been revealed. This morning, after much anticipation, Nike and U.S. Soccer introduced the 2026 home and away jerseys for each of the 27 U.S. national teams, including the USMNT and the USWNT. The jerseys will be what the USMNT will wear this summer at the 2026 World Cup.
The home and away jerseys are what has been rumored on the internet for weeks, but the official details have now been revealed. The home jersey is a bold red-and-white undulating
hoop design meant to mimic a waving U.S. flag. The design flows across the front of the jersey and onto the back as well. The main part of the back of the jersey is plain white to fall within FIFA regulations for the name and number. The US Soccer crest is on the left chest, and the jersey contains navy sleeve cuffs and a navy collar to bring it all together. On the inside neck of the jersey, in an effort to unite fans behind the national teams, is the slogan “The Best of U.S.” The home jersey will be paired with navy shorts.
The away jersey is a more muted option that creates a stars & stripes theme. It’s a midnight navy jersey with sublimated stars all around the jersey. The US Soccer crest is a monochrome midnight navy with a metallic silver outline to match the jersey as well. The Nike swoosh is also in metallic silver. A red line starts mid shoulder and goes onto the back of the jersey around the collar. The jersey will be paired with matching midnight navy shorts that look to be a different navy than the ones for the home jersey.
For the first time, the U.S. Soccer jerseys will move away from bespoke name and number sets that are based off existing Nike templates. Instead, they will have their own bespoke font that ties into the stars & stripes theme. The home jersey will have the stars font, while the away jersey will have the stripes font. That further brings the two jerseys together in a cohesive way.
For the third time, USMNT and USWNT players were consulted throughout the design process. However, the USWNT opted to let the USMNT be the voice for the players in a men’s World Cup year. “It was funny because we invited [the USWNT] and they all passed and said, ‘This is [the USMNT’s] year,’” Maribeth Towers, U.S. Soccer vice president of consumer products said about the process. For Women’s World Cup years, Towers said the USMNT responded in kind. “They said, ‘let the [USWNT] do it. We’ll be happy with whatever the outcome is.”
The players being involved in the process has allowed them to take ownership of part of the design, and they get to implement some of the things that they feel will look good when they wear it and to help with identifying the support in the stadium. “[The USMNT] talked about how when they come into the stands, they love it when they know where our fans are,” Towers remarked. “If it’s a mixed crowd, they like to be able to see the jersey…If we get a bunch of the fans wearing that [home] jersey, there’s gonna be no doubt where our fans are in the stands.”
The USMNT will debut the jerseys during their upcoming matches against Belgium on March 28th and Portugal on March 31st, with both matches taking place in Atlanta. The USWNT will wear the jerseys for the first time during the April international window when they play Japan three times in a week. Both jerseys are now available for purchase in unisex, women’s and youth sizes at retailers nationwide, including Fanatics and Lids.
As the USMNT prepares for the 2026 World Cup, they now can start to unify behind the jersey they will wear on the field as they take on the world on home soil.
