After Bayern Munich phenom Lennart Karl honestly answered a question about his dream club (you can get that here), a firestorm of controversy erupted among many fans.
As such, there is a response, but it
is unclear on exactly who it came from. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano issued a report on the matter (via @iMiaSanMia), which detailed “what those close to Lennart Karl are saying”:
The message to Bayern fans and also what those close to Lennart Karl are saying after today’s statement: the boy is very young, this is a 17-year old kid. He was very honest in sharing his feelings, but he loves being at Bayern, he’s very proud and wants to fight for Bayern. He’s always had a dream to play for Real Madrid, but that doesn’t mean he wants to leave Bayern today. He knows that his present and his future are going to be at Bayern. Then at some point in the distant future his dream is to play for Real Madrid.
This might take some of the sting away for fans and it paints the picture that Karl just did not know how to best handle the question from a public relations standpoint.
Surely, the matter is not closed with some fans and we could see more statements and/or reporting on the matter in the coming hours and days.
