The Giants apparently took another hit to their wide receiver room during their OTA practice on Friday.
Wide Receiver Gunner Olszewski went down with what reporters described as a non-contact injury. Teammates gathered around as he was carted off the field.
Olszewski has been
injury-plagued during his tenure with the Giants. He missed time late in the 2025 season due to a concussion and a groin injury at the start of the 2024 season. The eight year pro entered has made his mark in the NFL as a special teams players, most notably as a punt returner.
Reunion with OBJ?
The Olszewski injury comes as the team’s two top receivers have been dealing with injuries this off season— Malik Nabers is battling back from a major knee injury that required a second surgery recently and Darius Slayton is sidelined with an offseason sports hernia surgery.
The Giants have added several players to the wide receiver room in the run up to John Harbough’s first year with the team. The New York Giants signed Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III to one-year deals while trading up in the draft to acquire Notre Dame’s Malachi Fields.
The injury will undoubtedly bring another round of speculation focused on the potential signing of Odell Beckham, Jr. The teams former first round pick worked out for the Giants this offseason and Harbaugh has spoke highly of the player he coached with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.
