1) Aggressive defense
Penn State played more of the style of defense this team is used to, a change that seemed to have started last week against Indiana. Why it took Jim Knowles this long to adjust is beyond me.
Their aggressiveness
almost bit them there by the end, but they made up the back-to-back roughing the passer calls with the game-sealing forced fumble.
2) Mostly aggressive offense
Penn State certainly didn’t want to leave anything on the field. In fact, they were so aggressive that in one drive, on 4th and 3, they opted to go for it instead of kicking the field goal, which would have put them up 7. It didn’t work. Yet, a number of other gambles did work, and the Lions used them to come out on top in the end.
3) Two more games
The postseason is still alive for Penn State. They come back home against Nebraska and end the regular season at Rutgers. Win them both, go bowling.
