Good morning, BBN!
The Tyran Stokes recruitment is finally over as the No. 1 player in the 2027 class chose the Kansas Jayhawks on ESPN Tuesday night. Now that leaves Mark Pope and his staff with some huge question marks with their 2026-27 roster, especially when it comes to star power. Can they find it?
That is the major question as the staff returns to the drawing board.
There are plenty of names out there, including Milan Momcilovic and Allen Graves, but both could stick it out in the NBA Draft.
Will they head the international route to find a sure-fire superstar talent to join the fold? At the moment, that seems like the best option.
Overall, the program is in a pretty tough spot, it seems. They put all of their chips in on Stokes and missed by quite a bit, according to reports. The staff has to find a way to make the brand cool again, and landing one of these big-time players could do just that.
Time to see where they go from here. Would imagine we will know pretty quickly.
