Eric Longenhagen at FanGraphs updated his top-100 prospects list now that the season has concluded. Six Dodgers are included in the top 100, topped by outfielder Josue De Paula at No. 17 overall, down slightly from 12th in late July.
Dodgers prospects in FanGraphs top 100
17. Josue De Paula, OF (down from No. 12 in July)
45. Zyhir Hope, OF (down from 35th)
54. Alex Freeland, SS (down from 39th)
72. Eduardo Quintero, OF
80. Jackson Ferris, SP (down from 36th)
88. River Ryan, SP (up from 95th)
Outfielder Eduardo Quintero, who won the California
League MVP in Class-A despite playing the final seven weeks of the season in High-A Great Lakes, and who was named the Dodgers minor league player of the year, vaulted into the top 100 on FanGraphs’ list.
“Eduardo Quintero moves in largely because he was better incorporating his top hand into his swing late in the season, helping him cover the inner third with pull power,” Longenhagen wrote.
Outfield is the biggest strength at the top of ranked Dodgers prospects, with De Paula, Hope, and Quintero also faring well in top-100 lists at Baseball America and MLB Pipeline as well. In addition, Mike Sirota was not among the FanGraphs top 100, but was ranked the 48th-best prospect by Baseball America and 66th by MLB Pipeline in August.
