It didn’t take long to find out the structure of Seattle Seahawks outside linebacker Derick Hall’s $42 million contract extension.
OverTheCap has posted Hall’s new deal, which was agreed to earlier this week, and this contract is as team-friendly as you might expect.
Here are additional contract notes:
Derick Hall signed a three year, $42 million extension with the Seahawks on June 3, 2026. $21 million is guaranteed for injury of which $19 million is a new money guarantee. $15.27 million is fully guaranteed at
signing including a $13 million signing bonus and his base salary for 2026 and $1.02 million in per game bonuses. If on the roster five days after the 2026 league year Super Bowl his 2027 compensation will become fully guaranteed. If on the roster five days after the 2027 league year Super Bowl, $1.507 million of his salary will be guaranteed. There are annual per game bonuses that are worth up to $1.02 million per year and annual workout bonuses of $250,000. The contract has an additional $4.5 million in performance incentives.
Hall’s 2026 cap hit increased from about $2.9 million to just over $6.2 million, and the remaining length of his deal amounts to a four-year contract worth a little bit below $45 million. To have Hall under contract through 2029 on about $11 million/year is an absolute steal. The big jump in money doesn’t even start until 2028, when his cap number nearly doubles to $13.75 million. His average per year sits outside the top 30 among all edge rushers, so he has a huge opportunity to outperform his contract over the next few seasons.
The updated cap space available for the 2026 Seahawks sits at over $25 million, pending any other restructures or additional extensions for key players.
