The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame inducted their 2026 class on Saturday night in Natchitoches.
Included in the class were four LSU legends, including 1996 CWS National Champion Warren Morris, former men’s basketball head coach and current broadcaster John Brady, women’s basketball legend Sylvia Folwes, and Todd McClure.
The event happens annually in Natchitoches,
where the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is housed. The weekend includes a welcome reception, tailgate, luncheon, river fest with fireworks, bowling fundraiser, and an awards ceremony for the members of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
Also included in this year’s HOF class is Jonathan Lucroy, Joe Horn, Pat Williams, and several state journalists.
Morris and Fowles both had standout careers at LSU as Morris hit the game-winning home run against Miami in the finals of the 1996 Men’s College World Series in Omaha to win the Tigers their fourth national title.
Fowles was dominant while in the Purple and Gold, towering over most of the competition in women’s college basketball. She finished her collegiate career with 86 double-doubles and became the SEC’s all-time leading rebounder. She went on to be an early legend in the WNBA and is now an assistant coach for the Portland Fire of the WNBA.
