Ever since joining older brother Matt in TNA about two years ago, Jeff Hardy’s remained healthy and productive. It’s been a good stretch for a 49-year-old — especially one who was doing extreme sports before he started taking crazy wrestling bumps 30-plus years ago, and an addict who’s seen previous runs derailed by drugs, alcohol, and the problems abusing them brings.
But based on what Matt said on the latest episode of his podcast, it seems that stretch is going to be over soon for his younger brother.
Asked about his next character by co-host Jon Alba, the creator of the Broken Universe said:
“I don’t know. It’s gonna be interesting to see what my next character is, especially if Jeff takes a a little time off to try and work on his neck a little bit. And that that that may be happening. I guess we’ll see…”
Alba joked about Jeff being “a stunt monkey”, and Matt indicated it wasn’t so much caused by a particular spot or stunt, but more of a “nagging” issue:
“It’s been a year now since he’s had this bulging disc that’s just been bugging him. He’s going to… I think he’s done everything he can to do in his power. I think he’s maybe going to take some time off and just see what he can do to to get it fixed up and and correct it as much as possible.”
If you follow our man Manolo’s TNA coverage, you know The Hardys are currently embroiled with the former Wyatt Sicks, now going by Syx. Seems like a good way to write a veteran babyface off, no?
Get well soon, Jeff. Give us your assessment of the the Hardys latest TNA run in the comments below. Either Jeff (and/or Matt).
