Borussia Dortmund returned from the September international window with a comprehensive 2-0 win at Heidenheim. After the hosts went down to 10 men in the 21st minute with a straight red card to Budu Zivziadze, Serhou Guirassy scored the opener 10 minutes later, and Maximilian Beier scored the second and final goal of the afternoon in the sixth minute of added time before halftime. Even before Heidenheim went down a man, Dortmund were clearly the better team, and they could’ve scored more goals. It’s
a good momentum builder heading into the Champions League opener against Juventus on Tuesday.
Here are the Fear The Wall nominations for Borussia Dortmund’s Man of the Match in their 2-0 win against Heidenheim:
Serhou Guirassy
Guirassy dominated in the air and off the ball, culminating in the headed opening goal. I love having Guirassy on this team.
Maximilian Beier
Maxi was a menace down the wing, and he put himself on the scoresheet with a goal just before halftime.
Karim Adeyemi
I thought Karim dominated in this match, cooking the Heidenheim defense and generating scoring opportunities. His assist to Beier was a terrific example of unselfish play.
Daniel Svensson
Locked down his side of the pitch from the opening whistle.
