CountryBox247.com, 8:00 pm ET, CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing. This one has a promotional name: “Battle for Glory!” Main event is a heavyweight showdown between Fernando Cuza, an undefeated 5x CountryBox: Where Music Meets Boxing veteran, and Rydell Booker. The Music is CJ Garton.
Thursday, September 4th
PunchingGrace.com, 6:30 pm ET, Osleys Iglesias vs Vladimir Shiskin. For the IBO super middleweight title, from Montreal, Canada. Bummer that we’re not getting Eye of the Tiger shows on ESPN anymore, but at least there’s
an option to watch. Iglesias is arguably the most exciting thing going at super middleweight right now, and yes I am aware of and appreciate Christian Mbilli and Diego Pacheco, among others. Shiskin lost a close one to William Scull, but is otherwise unblemished as a pro. Typical EotT undercard, with Dzmitry Asanau in the chief support. He’ll defend a minor WBC title against Laid Douadi, a Frenchman fighting outside of his native land for the only time other than a single 2020 event in Belgium. It’s French Canada, so hopefully Douadi will at least feel comfortable. Looks like there are two subscription options for the platform streaming this: $189 Canadian for a year, or $57 Canadian (~$42 US) for three months.
Friday, September 5th
TrillerTV+, 12:15 pm ET, “Return of the Mick.” Michael Conlan vs Jack Bateson, from Dublin, Ireland. UK viewers will get it on Channel 5, US boxing fans will need a TrillerTV+ subscription for anything beyond the prelims. Looks like an eight fight card, with the main portion starting at 2 pm ET, and presumably three or four fights on the free streaming portion.
ProBox TV, 6:00 pm ET, Jordan White vs Rene Tellez. From Washington, D.C., a co-promotion with Lamont Roach Sr’s operation. Two other ten-rounders on the card beyond the main event: Sulaiman Segawa vs Bryan Acosta, and Jonhatan Cardoso vs Luis Torres.
Saturday, September 6th
DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Matchroom Boxing. Main event is Pat McCormack vs Miguel Parra, and it’s coming to you from the village of Houghton-le-Spring in Tyne and Wear, England. I’ve always found it fascinating how much of our western naming conventions come from what identified people in areas like this 1000 years ago. If your family worked grain, you ended up called the Millers. If your family worked metal, you were Smiths. If your family caught seafood, you were Fishers. And that’s how so many people from what ultimately became the British Empire got their last names, because of what defined someone in their lineage a millennium past. Anyway, the chief support features Mark Dickinson defending his British super middleweight title against Troy Williamson. Sandy Ryan and Cameron Vuong also appear in support. BLH will have live updates
DAZN, 9:00 pm ET, Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez vs Christopher Diaz. For Nunez’s IBF super featherweight title. Later than usual show since it’s hosted in Sinaloa, Mexico. Chief support here finds Pedro Guevara facing Adrian Curiel, which could be a real under-the-radar banger of a fight. Guevara has five pro losses, with four of them coming against Bam Rodriguez, Carlos Cuadras (SD), Kenshiro Teraji (MD), and John Riel Casimero (MD). Curiel is a low KO-rate guy, but he shocked Sivenathi Nontshinga with a KO-2 back in 2023. No guarantees, but definitely worth tuning in early if you’re planning on watching the main event.
