Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin has landed with the Arizona Cardinals as a senior defensive assistant, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Austin was the last remaining member of the Steelers’ former staff under Mike Tomlin to not land a new job. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith took the same role with Ohio State. Running backs coach Eddie Faulkner is now with the Baltimore Ravens, while wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni is the new wide receivers coach with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander also left for the Minnesota Vikings.
Austin was with the Steelers from 2019-25, serving as the team’s defensive coordinator from 2022-25. He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions.
