After missing on Guéhi, Bayern’s next step depends on Kim (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg via @iMiaSanMia)
When Marc Guéhi — allegedly — opted to go to Manchester City on Friday (it’s not official yet), Bayern Munich needed to go back to the drawing board for its plans at center-back.
As it stands, Dayot Upamecano
is still likely to sign a contract extension, which could affect the future of Kim Min-jae. Now, it appears that whatever Kim decides will directly impact Bayern Munich’s plans. If Kim wants out, Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck could be an option (assuming he does ink a contract extension with BVB in the meantime):
Whether Bayern will go for a new centre-back in the summer mainly depends on Kim Min-jae’s future. The club is still keeping an eye on Nico Schlotterbeck and whether he will extend his contract at Dortmund or not. In addition, Rennes’ Jérémy Jacquet is on Bayern’s radar. Max Eberl is a fan of the 20-year old Frenchman. There’s a lot of competition for Jacquet from Chelsea and more clubs. He’s expected to cost more than €50m. Bayern believe they have little chance of completing a deal.
If Bayern Munich believes in Kim, then this is an easy situation to manage. If not, though, he is an obstacle to the club getting a player it wants. As for Jacquet, Bayern Munich might have to engage in a bidding war to get him.
Marmoush to BVB? (Ekrem Konur)
Back in 2023/24 Omar Marmoush was ripping it up for Eintracht Frankfurt before making an ill-advised move (athletically, not financially) to Manchester City.
Now, there is a report that Marmoush could be headed back to the Bundesliga — only this time, to play for Borussia Dortmund:

Dembélé to spurn PSG extension? (ESPN)
Ousmane Dembélé is rumored to be balking at a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain:
Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé is set to reject Paris Saint-Germain’s contract extension offer, as per Footmercato. Despite being offered a new deal which would see him earn €30m per year, the forward is holding out for double that amount. Dembélé, 28, is entering the final two years of his current PSG contract this summer, which may draw the attention of clubs around Europe.
Szoboszlai to stay at LFC? (CaughtOffside via ESPN)
It looks like Dominik Szoboszlai will sign a contract extension with Liverpool FC:
Hungary midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, 25, has reached an agreement in principle to extend his contract at Liverpool, rejecting interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Bellingham in danger of losing start spot with England? (JeffBet)
Didi Hamann think Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham could potentially lose his starting gig with England.
“As we’ve seen with Salah and Liverpool, no one is bigger than the team and that’s the same situation with Bellingham and England. Rogers has been playing very well recently, he’s a fantastic player on great form. I don’t think it’s out of the equation that Bellingham won’t start for England. Names don’t bother Tuchel, no matter how big they are. If Rogers carries on his form, he’ll be in the starting XI for England in June,” Hamann told JeffBet.
