Manuel Neuer sees plenty of potential in Bayern Munich’s Nathaniel Brown.
Speaking about the young full-back, Neuer highlighted the versatility, pace and attacking ability that could make Brown an important weapon for Bayern Munich, particularly when the team is able to exploit space in transition.
“I think he is very agile and very attentive. With the ball, he can be dangerous for the opponent, especially in deep positions, and his runs can help us. He is fast and a strong dribbler, and can play on both
the right and left sides. I think he is flexible and has a good attacking instinct. And of course, he also has the speed for transitions,:” Neuer told Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
That is quite the endorsement from Bayern Munich’s captain.
Brown, who is primarily competing for playing time with Alphonso Davies at left-back, has ability to operate on either flank gives Vincent Kompany another option when managing his squad. Brown’s pace and willingness to attack could be particularly valuable in a system that relies heavily on width and quick transitions.
The defensive side of his game will obviously be crucial as he continues to develop, but the attacking tools are already drawing attention. If Brown can translate those qualities consistently to the senior level, Bayern Munich may have another exciting young player ready to make an impact.
