What is the story about?

At long last, we’ve reached judgment day. Or, perhaps, the first of many days of judgment, pun intended. Today, the Yankees’ 2026 postseason run begins, as the club hopes that this foray into October baseball lasts longer than last year’s did. We will also learn today whether Aaron Judge will be on the playoff roster, as the slugger was on the field taking live batting practice just yesterday less than two weeks after suffering a calf strain. The stakes, both with regard to Judge’s health, and with the Yankees’ matchup

with their archnemesis, are unbearably high.
