Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio spoke after the win over Levante about how important it was to bounce back from the embarrassing defeat to Albacete. The defender, who had a good performance capped with a well-taken header from a corner in the second half, discusssed how important it was to turn the situation around. He said: “It was a very important day. Everyone wanted to turn the situation around. The Albacete thing shouldn’t have happened. We felt guilty and wanted to reverse it. We wanted to give
a good image and this is the way.” Asencio was asked about what Alvaro Arbeloa asked them to do before the game, to which he said: “He asks us to enjoy. That we are protagonists, that we dominate. That we look at ourselves and not at the rival. Little by little we will come to fruition.”
He was also asked about what exactly had changed in order for Real Madrid to bring out a win, to which the Spaniard said: “We talked in the locker room and came to a common reflection. It’s important to talk about things, listen to the coach and have confidence.”
Finally, Asencio was asked about his second goal at the Bernabeu, and he answered: “I’m getting the taste. I notice the warmth of the fans on a daily basis. When I play, on the street, on social networks. I notice that love.”
