A Saturday night game with No. 10 LSU rolling into the Bluegrass is exciting enough. What’s even more exciting is what the Kentucky Wildcats will be rocking at Kroger Field.
Yup, those rumors and whispers we heard are now true. Kentucky will be rocking the “Power K” helmets Saturday night when they host Lane Kiffin and the Tigers.
The school essentially confirmed the news with a tweet on Monday that included the classic helmet.
Kentucky
wore these helmets from 1975-91, and now they are making a return in a highly anticipated SEC showdown in Will Stein’s first season as the Cats’ head coach.
Will Stein has been leaving breadcrumbs throughout the Summer and early part of the season that something may be in the works. Now, it’s happening, in a game Kentucky can really make a statement in.
Saturday night’s game kicks off at 7:00 E.T. on ESPN, with both teams entering at 4-1. Kentucky is a 10-point underdog at FanDuel, with the over/under at 53.5. LSU is 1-1 in the SEC, while Kentucky is 2-1.
What an opportunity this is for the Cats, and what an atmosphere it will be at Kroger Field Saturday night against a playoff contender.
