The Miami Dolphins are a young, developing team in 2026 as they reset the roster and build toward a more competitive future. The young players are tackling the learning curve of getting up to speed in the NFL, but it does not always go smoothly, and mistakes happen.
The Dolphins players are looking for every opportunity to learn and grow. The South Florida Sun Sentinel’s David Furones looked at Dolphins rookie left guard Kadyn Proctor’s chance to learn from San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl tackle Trent
Williams after the teams’ Week 2 matchup this past Sunday.
Proctor, the 21-year old first-round pick out of Alabama, got to have a conversation with one of the best offensive tackles in the game, San Francisco’s Trent Williams.
“I kind of just went up to him and was just telling him, like, obviously I want some plays back. There’s just those two or three plays that linger in your mind,” Proctor said. “But he was just telling me, like, he’s in Year 17 and he has some of those plays. So, just understanding how to push forward with that. Everybody makes mistakes and that’s just the game of football. The guys that I’m going against are getting paid to do this, too.”
It’s a brief moment Proctor had with the 38-year-old, 12-time Pro Bowl, three-time All-Pro left tackle, but after his second NFL regular-season game, to get to pick the brain of an elite lineman can boost a young player forward.
