What is the story about?
The NFL has informed teams of the final salary cap number for 2026. They’ve increased the cap number by $22 million to $301.2 million. That is a huge increase year-over-year and will give teams plenty of ammunition when free agency opens in a couple of weeks.
That gives the Denver Broncos a start point of $22.2 million in effective cap space,
but as mentioned a few weeks ago, they could free up a great deal of cap space through just simple restructures. That process could increase their starting salary cap to around $70 million for this season.
In short, they are in great shape to attack free agency for key positions of need and even sign one of their own to an extension — like Ja’Quan McMillian, for example.
