The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report of the week on Saturday in advance of their Week 3 Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears.
The Eagles ruled three players OUT: Dallas Goedert, Hollywood Brown, and Fred Johnson.
Goedert is expected to miss multiple games due to a knee injury. Prior to Monday at 4:00 PM Eastern, the Eagles are expected to temporarily elevate Zach Ertz from the practice squad to help fill Goedert’s absence. Ertz, Johnny Mundt, and
E.J. Jenkins will be Philly’s three tight ends on Monday night. Will be interesting to see just how big of a role Ertz plays after returning to the Eagles earlier this week.
Brown was unexpectedly added to the report on Friday with an ankle injury. He also wasn’t able to practice on Saturday. With Brown out, perhaps the Eagles will make Elijah Moore active for the first time this season.
Fred Johnson is a new addition to the report. The veteran blocker missed Saturday’s practice due to a knee injury. With Big Fred out, rookie Markel Bell figures to serve as the swing tackle behind starters Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Bell might’ve already been the top backup there anyway.
The Eagles ruled one players QUESTIONABLE: Jonathan Greenard.
Greenard was previously ruled out of the Eagles’ first two games, so, this is a step in the right direction for his eventual return. The veteran edge rusher was a full participant during Saturday’s practice and he said he feels “pretty optimistic” about his chances to play. Even if Greenard does suit up, Vic Fangio cautioned that he’s not ready to handle a normal workload of snaps at this point in time. But it could still be good for him to join a rotation that also features Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith, Arnold Ebiketie, and A.J. Epenesa. The Eagles’ pass rush could sure use a spark. It would be nice to see that unit come alive in Chicago.
Players notably listed without a game status: Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Jalen Carter, Andrew Mukuba, Tyler Steen, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley.
Barkley was limited on Thursday before fully participating on Friday and Saturday. He’s ready to play despite suffering a stinger in Week 2.
Smitty was upgraded to full participation on Saturday after being limited on Friday and not practicing on Thursday. Seems like the Eagles were managing his workload to help get him to Monday night.
Carter, like Barkley, was limited on Thursday before being full go the last two days. He’ll continue to play with a cast on his hand due to an wrist injury.
Mukuba is ready to start after fully participating the last two days.
Steen was a full participant in practice all week.
Bigsby and Shipley are set to play. Bigsby did not practice on Thursday before being upgraded to limited on Friday and upgraded again to full on Saturday. Shipley did not practice on Thursday before being limited on both Friday and Saturday. I wonder if Shipley could have a smaller role than usual due to being less than 100%.

CHICAGO BEARS INJURY REPORT (SATURDAY)
The Bears ruled three players OUT: starting quarterback Caleb Williams, linebacker Noah Sewell, and defensive lineman Shemar Turner.
Williams suffered a hamstring injury during the Bears’ Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and was unable to participate in practice this week.
Sewell and Turner are ineligible to be activated from injured reserve until after Week 4.
The Bears ruled one player QUESTIONABLE: Tyson Bagent.
Bagent was a full participant in Saturday’s sessionafter missing the previous two practices. Bagent has yet to officially clear the concussion protocol but it looks like he has a realistic chance to play against the Eagles on Monday night. If Bagent is unable to suit up, Chicago will be down to third-string QB Case Keenum.
The Bears notably did NOT list starting cornerback Tyrique Stevenson with a game status.
He was listed under did not participate on Thursday before being upgraded to limited on Friday. Stevenson was upgraded again to full go on Saturday. But the Eagles still might want to test out that hamstring injury he’s dealing with.
Bears kicker Cairos Santos is also set to play despite missing practices earlier this week. He was full go on Saturday.
