New York Giants star receiver Malik Nabers took a big step on his road to recovery on Monday.
He didn’t do a tremendous volume of work on Monday, taking three reps in 7-on-7 drills and four reps in 11-on-11 drills, before running routes on air with a trainer to finish practice. It wasn’t much, but it is a step up from what he had been doing.
Nabers spent the first two weeks of camp simply running routes against air in the first 20 minutes of practice. That led to concerns among some that he was behind
schedule and wouldn’t be ready for the Giants’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
Giants’ head coach John Harbaugh doesn’t believe Nabers is back up to full speed yet, but added that he looked good in what little he did in team periods.
