After their 89-73 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers over the weekend, things don’t get much easier for the Wisconsin Badgers, as they take on the UCLA Bruins at home on Tuesday.
Wisconsin suffered its first
loss at home to Purdue after starting the season 8-0 at the Kohl Center. Now, they’ll look to avoid back-to-back losses at home when they face a tough Bruins team that has started the season 10-4.
UCLA has played some close games so far, losing by four to No. 5 Arizona, losing by eight to Cal, and losing by 10 to No. 8 Gonzaga. They’re also beaten Oregon, Washington (on the road), and Arizona State, while most recently losing 74-61 to No. 25 Iowa to kick off the Big Ten slate in January.
UCLA returned forward Tyler Bilodeau, who leads the team in scoring at 18.2 points per game. Transfer point guard Donovan Dent has been the team’s assists and steals leader, but has struggled to be efficient from the field, shooting 42.5 percent from the field, 10 percent from three, and 62.9 percent from the free throw line.
Wisconsin is in dire need of a big win, and UCLA would currently be classified as a Quad 2 win, with the Bruins being outside the Top 30 in NET.
